In 2009 police investigated eight reported cases of muggings and robberies. Five reported as related, 2 were unsure of the correlation and the eighth is still being investigated. The four victims all were male, in their mid-twenties, and alone at the time of being mugged. The four men were asked for their wallets and then beaten in the face and in the head, two ending up being hospitalized. Though five of the muggings are, timing between the distances makes one realize it was possible more than one person took part. In one of the cases it three men were the potential robbers, and in another case a suspect was released post a physical lineup.
